Why did I make this comic?
I want to get out of my emotional self and put it on this art, it was uncomfortable to deal with this situation every day. I live with someone who has limited abilities and made it harder for me. It is not her fault. It made me look like a deaf person. Before I moved to NJ, I never thought of myself as a deaf person. Label me as “Artist”, and deaf as the second label. Till here, I feel the “deaf label” is more important than ‘artist.” It made me deal with my anxiety. This issue also applies to MANY deaf people. I am not alone. So, before I moved here, my family always signed to me. They meet my benefit because I am their daughter they loved. They provide me a lot of access and knowledge around me.
GIVE language to deaf children as early as possible, speaking and sign language is fine. Let kids choose
